I take myself and my work incredibly seriously, but I’m also someone who loves to laugh, chat and connect with people. It’s the sharing and receiving of stories with others that piqued my interest in writing in the first place. My professional writing career evolved from there.
Trained as an academic writer, I graduated with a master’s degree in 2016 from Queen’s University where I learned the fundamentals of clear and concise writing. From there, I transitioned to the workforce, gaining experience in industries including fashion, education and health care.
In 2021 I completed Humber Polytechnic’s Professional Writing and Communications graduate program. There, I refined my writing, editing and communication skills, plus developed proficiencies in digital content creation and social media management.
After graduating, I worked as a digital editor at two of Canada’s largest national consumer magazines: Maclean’s and Reader’s Digest. I returned to Maclean’s to serve as their audience engagement editor after a brief stint in municipal communications. I was recently the associate editor at Cottage Life and then the senior digital editor at House & Home. Currently, I serve as the SEO and Audience Editor at The Globe and Mail.
